Busy Weekend...Kind Of

It was definitely the busiest weekend in a while, yet I accomplished nothing at all. It's odd.

Saturday was a good day. I got in some good quality family time with JohnRoss and we hung out. I did a ton of laundry, he made chili and we watched some of Pirates and then went to Wal-Mart. Good times, nothing too out of the ordinary. We had a good sibling-ish talk though, just about relationships in general and people that we love that we know, no matter what, we're probably always going to love just a little. And maybe more than just a little, but you know, it happens. He made a good point about how, sometimes he wonders if loving someone else that much is a possibility and that thought kind of scared me. What if I can't? Or, what if I don't allow myself to do so? Maybe that's why I am so peachy keen with the situation I have right now, it involves no feelings, no emotions, and is certainly not about love. So it's ok. Sort of. It is by no means healthy at all and is actually kind of fucked up, but as the involved party says, "I don't trust anything that's not a little fucked up. Makes things more interesting." It certainly does.

On to Sunday. I love having Sundays off, though yesterday can only truly be described as a clusterfuck. It was ridiculous. I did nothing, and for a long amount of time, than I have done in a long time, even though technically, I was actually doing stuff. It'll make sense once I actually tell you about the course of the day.

So, I IM Brett cuz I want some lunch. He can't decide if he wants food. I harrass him into giving me a shrug, which I take as a sign of, "Yes let's get food." I got over there and he and Evan are just hanging out playing some random video game Lego Star Wars something. So we're going to get food and Evan is being all laggy and can't decide if he wants to go or not but he wants food but he doesn't want to go blah blah blah. I decide for him that he's going, so we all go. Then Brett decides first we have to drive all the way out to effing 56th and High Way 2. Then we go to get some Chinese food and Evan says if it's not worth it he'll pay for it. Well, mine was not, it was all veggies even though I ordered chicken chow mein. Next time, Evan is not picking where we go to eat. His was good, cuz he gave me some of his chicken, and Brett's was good - if I liked spicey food which I don't, and I didn't think that was very funny but he and Evan thought it was HILARIOUS. I KNEW the General Tso's Chicken was the hott one and they're both like, no no it's not just eat it. Ew. Never again. So then we head to Gamers on 48th and O-ish, and then we decide suddenly that we're going to see Jackass: Number Two. I don't even remember how we decided this, it just came into being that this is what we were going to do. I have a killer headache and Brett is getting sleepy We went to Edgewood before Gamers, but it wasn't playing for another two hours so we headed to Blockbuster on 16th and then finally were like, okay, we're either going home and sleeping or we're going to this effing movie. We chose the movie. After trying to find effing parking, we have to suck it up and park in the garage. All of this has happened in about two and a half hours and it is now four pm. We get to The Grand - the movie doesn't start til 5:10. Well, let's have a drink, we decide. Cliff's - closed. Cristo's Pub - closed...then I suggest Sandy's. After much bitching and moaning from the guys about it being too far, we go anyway. We have some beer, I barely beat Evan in a game of pool (I also cheated a little because I got mad, so I threw one of the balls into the pocket even though I clearly missed the shot. He let it count anyway). We saw the movie, Evan paid for my ticket as agreed on earlier since I wasn't happy with my very lightly chickened Chicken Chow Mein, and it was effing hilarious, though all the laughing didn't help my headache at all. I recommend it, even though there were parts where I had to cover my eyes. I think it was even better than the first. We finally get back to their apartment around 7:30ish. We were gone for six effing hours, and all we'd ever intended to do in the first place was get some food. That's it. And look how the day turned out. It wasn't necessarily a bad day, I got to hang out with friends and have fun, but there was just some very poor planning on our parts. We then all proceeded to be lazy the rest of the night, we watched a movie Evan rented, I half fell asleep until the Ibuprofin finally kicked in and I could actually look at light again without the terrible pain in my skull, and Brett fell asleep on the couch. Eventually he went to sleep for real and Evan and I watched 'Event Horizon'. That movie is fucked up, but I liked it. I kept saying I wanted to watch Dawn of the Dead (the remake) and Evan assured me that I'd like this one since I liked that one so much. They're not similar in storyline really, but they're both effing scary - 'Event Horizon' moreso. If you haven't seen it, you should, just don't watch it by yourself, or in the dark. I do not recommend it at all. Still, I liked it, although coming home at 2 am to a dark apartment was no treat. Next time I watch scary movies at Brett and Evan's, I think I may have to sleep on their couch. I know I'm a baby but I love being scared anyway, it's such a rush.

Anyway, the day may not seem so clusterfuckish to you, and if I could explain the oddness of the day, I would. I do have a funny story though to end the evening with: During the movie I decided chicken nuggets sounded good, so Evan and I pause it and go to McDonalds. Well, to add to the day's weirdness, their credit card machine suddenly goes down and I have to write a check for SIX FREAKING DOLLARS, just so we can get our effing nuggets. Then we get to the second window and the guy hands me a pop and Evan and I are like, uhhhh, okay, thanks? We didn't order anything but nuggets. So the guy takes the food and drink back - he also gave us burgers and stuff, then he gets our correct order. Right before this I was like, "Well, you can give us more food if you really want to, but we don't need it..." So he gave us extra fries. Sucker. Guys are so gullible, I totally flirted with the guy and not even really flirted and look how easy he caved and gave us free food. Now here's another thing we talked about: generally, you see a guy and a girl together that late at night, going through a drive thru, you assume they're probably together, right? Of course Evan and I aren't, but outwardly that's what it most likely looks like. So, what did this guy really expect by giving me free food? That I'd come back later and be like, hey thanks for the food, let's have some wild sex on the counter? Evan and I had a good laugh about that one. It was one of the funnier points of the evening.

Anyway, that was my weekend. My odd and stressful and poorly planned but still totally fun weekend. It'll have to be another chapter in the book, JohnRoss, if ya know what I mean. And I'm fairly certain you do.
